Contact for the Workshop: firstname.lastname@example.org
The workshop will be related to Working Groups 1, 2 and 4 of the COST Action FA0904. WG1 is responsible for the “Development and characterization of new safe PNFP” selecting the constituents for development of improved / active / intelligent food packaging polymer nano-materials, being effective in real applications.
WG2 is related to the “Development of new processing technologies including modelling and simulation”.
WG4 deals with “Ethics, standardization and science-society dialog on PNFP”.
The following topics will be covered by the International Workshop in Varna:
1. Innovative PNFP compositions and processing technology;
2. Mechanics and rheology of nanomaterials – characterizations and modeling;
3. Improved properties of PNFP based on nanoscale and interfacial concept;
4. Structure at the hybrid interfaces and structure-property relationships;
5. Performance of PNFP at different processing and exploitation conditions;
6. Societal aspects of PNFP.

Development of new safe PNFP, Prague,
Czech Republic, February 7-8 2013
Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Department of Macromolecular Physics as a member of COST Action FA0904 (“Eco-sustainable food packaging based on polymer nanomaterials”) invites you to the International Workshop „Development of new safe PNFP“.The Workshop will be held at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Mala Strana Campus (Malostranské nám. 25, 118 00 Praha 1) in a historical (baroque) building of Computer Science just below Prague castle.
The workshop will be related to Working Group 1 of the Action Development of new safe PNFP. WG1 is responsible for providing the right inputs to the activities of the entire Action FA0904 selecting the constituents for development of effective improved / active / intelligent PNFP in dependence on target food /target microorganisms having the highest possibilities of being successfully incorporated in final package and being effective in real applications.
WG1 covers the following topics:
1. selection/synthesis/production of matrix /nanoparticles/nanodevices;
2. surface functionalisation / chemical treatments of nanoparticles;
3. linking nanosized structures to macroscopic functional properties;
4. characterisation and measurement tools.
